Can't Fake A Frequency
Aristotle once said that “To become virtuous, one must first act as if they are virtuous.” This root of the “fake it till you make it” mentality is probably the earliest validation of this idea. The basic idea is that practice makes perfect. Do it until it comes natural. Repeat it until it’s real. This idea is fundamental to the human experience.
While it may have merit, it’s important to note that:
Fake happiness is not happiness.
Fake compassion isn’t compassion.
Fake peace isn’t peace.
Remember, it’s about vibration. Son and Daughter, you’ve both played- or at least dabbled- with string instruments. A badly formed D chord doesn’t vibrate as a D chord. Badly formed chords on a guitar or ukelele may include buzz or rattle from the strings touching the fret, it may have flat or sharp tones from improper finger placement, or it may result in only some strings resonating correctly while others don’t. Either way, if your hands and fingers do not properly execute the playing pattern, it ain’t gonna sound right. You can’t fake knowing how to play. You can only practice until your ability improves.
Vibrations in the human experience work exactly the same way. If you don’t truly have compassion, then your compassionate behavior will not vibrate as compassion. It will vibrate as something else. Another example: if you pretend to care in the absence of empathy, then your caring behavior will not resonate as caring. It may resonate as selfishness, apathy, or manipulation, depending on your underlying, true motivation.
The take-away here is two-fold. Number one, the world is full of people sincerely trying to elevate their frequency, but that haven’t mastered it yet. They’re faking it, but not yet making it. They make mistakes. They sometimes get mired in low-frequency behavior that they put a happy face on. In reality, these people may impact the world around them- and themselves- in much the same way as people actively living low-frequency lives. Even though they have the best of internal intentions.
Number two, “faking it” can’t just be about the aesthetics and the optics. You must align your core vibration with your intention. Smiles and happy colors aren’t enough. You must practice mindfulness, gratitude, humility, etc. Faking Gratitude until you are truly grateful involves a minute-to-minute effort to BE grateful. Not just SOUND or LOOK grateful. The silent manipulation behind the mask does nothing to elevate your frequency and everything to lower it despite your looks and smiles.
The only real version of you is the version that exists inside your head. That sentence should haunt all humans on a true path of discovery. Your internal dialogue IS the real you. What others see of you are only glimpses and experiences and whispers of the real you. Pieces and parts and bits and fragments. You can fake a fragment. You can fake a moment. You can cover over emotion with facial expressions and body language. But it’s fake, still, at the end of the day. Only through vigorous training and effort do the practiced behaviors become real vibrations.
